Worst Hip Hop Rumors This Month

The internet is very much like the real world, with a high speed traveling system.  If you wanted(& lots of folk actually do) you could just kick back in your house all day, working from home, as well as having eveything from education, to zebra meat delivered right to your front door.  mc).  Now with this ease of access to just about everything, it leaves me dumbfounded when I'm scrolling thru my social media notifications & see bogus stories on just about everything from celebrities to new species of animals.  Now although a few(very veerry few) of these just happen to be true sometimes, I still find it super annoying, lazy, & a downright insult personally to bloggers & journalists everywhere when these stories are posted & actually taken seriously!!!  I mean I get it, sometimes there seems to be countless days that fly by with no real leads or stories to keep your reader entertained but I still don't see it as an excuse to post some bullshyte that's going to be confirmed fake within 2 minutes of it being posted!  Whats worse is the credit you lose as blogger/journalist/writer.  Now again I know this type of "journalism" has been around since print publications were the only way to stay in tune with the entertainment world, but due to technology seems like it would've died out some but it seems to get worse everyday.  The straw that broke the camels back for me was when I saw an article that said Ludicrous the rapper was dead!  Of course the story was took down & deleted just as quick as it was posted but still its like how far will these mofos go for attention/traffic now-a-days.  I decided to scan back a month to see the most ridiculous lies that internet could tell, here's just 5 of them, but...believe me (drake vc) there's plenty more where this came from.
I know folk joke about this all the time, but what blew me away with this one is that ehy actually went thru the trouble of creating a fake account to create 'gay confession' tweets or photoshopped his tweets, either way, thumbs up for trying to keep the authenticity.
There's no shame in this one at all.  This mofo types up a police report that states 'verbatim' that the staff found a pair of long johns with blood on the seat(heh) belonging to Gucci Mane(they black out his name of course)...and thats just the tip of the iceberg
The title says it all.
Unless you're Encino Man then you've heard about the current riff between Birdman & his marquee act, Tunechi.  In an effort to milk the situation for everything its worth this whimsical tale was created...Enjoy!
How messed up did you get to come up with this...this....f%ckery?!  A conspiracy to steal 29 tons of McNuggets for personal use? I guess it would be a kick ass idea for an after-hours grub-spot.

TweetWars: Cudi vs Lupe Fiasco

Like any other typical blogger I spend my free time scrolling aimlessly thru different social media sites, not looking for anything in particular, just making sure I stay in tune with the digital world.  Last night I found myself in for quite a treat when XXL Mag shared their latest story with me.  Apparently Lupe Fiasco & Kid Cudi have been having indifferences for some months now going tit for tat via Twitter.  By now almost everyone has heard Kendrick Lamar's statement about how he felt towards the events in Ferguson
and naturally(as with anything said by entertainers now-a-days) it rubbed alot of folk the wrong way, one being my boi Kid Cudi.  After hearing/reading the comment, Cudi took to Twitter, tweeting:
"dear black artists, don't talk down on the black community like you are Gods gift to niggaz everywhere"
&
"If you wanna help, inspire, uplift, dont point the blame, and talk down".

Lupe Fiasco, (who says he's been trying to get at Cudi for some months now over a tweet about him being a swindler)

quickly sprang into action replying to Cudder's tweet with a few of his own, as well as a couple of pics that showed a less-conscious Wizard than we're used to seeing...
Now from the look of the tweets, you'd think that Lupe had won the battle for the day at least, but we all (should) know Wizards' are known to keep a trick or two up their sleeve.  Instead of going back to the Twitter beef with anger & malice, Cudder combined his love & humor to create a tweet I found so funny I'll probably be laughing about it for the next couple of months:
Now if you don't find that the funniest tweet of 2015 so far you got some serious probz with your laugh box.  I'm not sure if I find more humor in the Poope' Fiasco moniker or the way Cudi put the icing on the cake with the taunting "haha dweeb".  Maybe I find it so funny cause I thought I was the only one who still used words like that & found them amusing.  All in all though I hope they get past their differences and become acquaintences again, I'd love to hear some music from them as a duo...or imagine Cudi, K Dot, & Lupe all on one track...#Magical

Checking out the Comp

What up world?! its yo pothead potna' back at ya, Hope all of yalls year are off to a good start! Mine is going prettty good & I have absolutely, positively no reason to complain!!! If you've been keeping up with me then you're aware of my most recent blog which covered what I thought to be the Best Albums of 2k14. In lieu(there it is again) of this blog I decided to get ahead this year by posting what I thought would be the Best Albums of 2k15. Now notice the keyword is "predicting" as last year taught us some of these albums may not even be released, but lets hope fort he best! As always I'll start with the artists I'm most fond and branch off from there

If you know slightly anything about me then you know Im a HUGE Kid Cudi fan! Last year Cudi dropped an EP entitled Satellite Flight: Journey To Mother Moon to hold his fans over for the time being & let us know via Twitter & IG that Man On The Moon 3 will be out this year!!! Cudi is out in Hawaii recording his album right now & from the looks of things he's in his zoned

If Man on the Moon 3 really picks up where Satellite Flight left off, then Cudder fans everywhere is in for a treat!

Next up where we've none other than my nizzy Drizzy! Other than some features & a few songs Drake went damn near silent(audio wise) in 2k14, but after his impressive release in 2k13(NWTS) Drizzy fans everywhere hardly noticed. Luckily, he was on enough features to keep us entertained. Then for his BDay he released 3 songs that he said would be leaked anyways(thanks to hackers). Drizzy promised that his 4th album will be out early 2k15, which is entitled Views from the 6th...we'll be waiting.

While we're in that YMCMB factor I guess we'll go ahead talk Weezy. Since the beginning of the year Wayne has been promising his fans the much anticipated C5. I guess after getting tired of making excuses Tunechi put out there that CMB was holding him/his music hostage, and that he wanted out of his deal. Lawsuits have been talked about from both sides ofthe argument, but things are being kept under lid for now. From the singles he dropped(Krazy, Grinding), sounds like another dope project under his belt, but the question is when are we gonna get to hear it? Recently heard some sources say he maybe releasing a project called "The Other Album", once again all we can do is wait.

Damn near everyone on TDE released an album last year except for a couple, one mainly be their marquee act K. Dot. Ever since Kendrick's emergence on the scene you know he was gonna be a problem. After his 2k12 release Good Kid Maad City Kendrick fans everywhere has been itching for a new release. Two years later besides features and his highly acclaimed "i" he's been rather quiet (a little too quiet if you ask me). Supposedly 2k15 is suppose to be the year that he comes out of hibernation, which is truly believable due to all the other albums coming out this year from top artist; something tells me he's been for waiting for the competition.

Yeezy has also been on a slight hiatus since early 2k13 not really releasing any music, but focusing energy into other areas of his career. Most recently he released a song inspired by Northwest entitled "Only One" which features Paul McCartney, Rhianna, and Ty Dolla $ign. The album is said to have at least 7 to 8 more songs on it, & appearantly Seth Rogen has heard the whole thing live in the back of a limo/van. Seth says Yeezy played the instrumentals from the album and just performed each song right then and there! Supposedly it's completed as of now having been recorded in Mexico in a day or less. Should be out before the end of the 1st quarter.

Now this last artist we'll be discussing has been under the radar since the success of his 2k13 release Long Live Asap. Since then he's released some music here and there, but has mainly been in fashion spreads and campaigns. A group venture was in the works, but has been cancelled and the ASAP mob seems to be pushing all attention toward Flacko Jodye(name of album). No for sure release date has been set for the album, but I heard he has 30 songs recorded for it! He released a single from the album last week or so to calm the hungry mob that await his album, letting them know 'Flacko Jodye Season is upon Us'. Now theres a whole slew of artists supposedly releasing projects next year that I didn't speak on, if I did this write up wouldn't be out in time. What I did do for you though is compile a list of artist dropping this year just in case I didn't write about an artist who has your interest(Im sure there's tons of others that aren't on this list as well.

ALbums of Interest 2k14

2k14 is being reported one of the worst years for hip hop album sales ever, with no albums appearing in the To 40(unless you count Pharell as a hip hop artist whose album came in 15). J. Cole was the only artist to break gold thus far with sales of 350k his first week. With all the other artists that dropped albums last year you're like, "Is hip hop really getting that bad?" Well #YourFavoriteBlackGuy took a Sunday drive to the iTunes store to see if hip hop had really gotten that bad or was the economy just f*#k'd up?
Albums Of Interest 2k14
So 1st lets talk about why I picked the albums I picked. All of the artists execpt for one (Kid Cudi) I had never listened to before but were interested in hearing their albums. They also had albums that ppl around me were talking about, and I have an eclectic following to say the least. Ok say lets get down to it, since I'm familiars with Kid Cudi so we'll go ahead and discuss his allbum first Cudi went with the no promo tactic that several artist went with this year when they released their album. "Satellite Flight: Journey to Mother Moon" was released on iTunes with barely a lead single. As I stated before I’m a huge Kid Cudi fan so I was eager to hear this one, especially because I didn't know about it. After a quick scan of the cd I was disappointed honestly, but all true fans of any artist know you can't just rule out an album after just one listen so I gave it another full spin. The album is actually an EP that Cudi explains as a link between Indicud & Man on the Moon 3. Cudi kept the vocals simple on this one and to a minimum making it more of an emotional experience rather an album. It starts out on a bright note and gradually gets darker but ends on a silver lining* The highlights of the CD for me are the first actual song(Going To The Ceremony), and the last one(Troubled Boy), which makes you want more, but unfortunately you gotta wait until the next album:( If you're not already a Cudi fan then I wouldn't recommend it for you as I'd say its not his best work IMO, but hey if you just let it ride then you may totally get into it as I did. TDE released at least three albums last year and Isaiah Rashad's "Cilvia Demo" EP was one of them. The name of his project is honestly what drew me in, and when I saw that he was with TDE I thought to myself yeah he has to be worth a listen. I pressed play and at 45 seconds I started the CD over again. The intro (Heredity) was amazing to me, had me eager to hear the next track. Again I was blown away by the production, there's a euphoric..90s type feel to his beats and I can definitely say his beat selection is crazy. His flow wasn't bad either, but IMO the actual content is what made the CD a bit lackluster to me. Im big on lyrics, messages & themes, so like I said the name made me wonder why Cilvia? Wanted to listen to the project rather than research why he named it that, & found no real connection. Some of the songs I feel didn't even have a real connection amongst the verses; rather a bunch of lyrics that displayed wittiness and wordplay but didn't say anything as a whole. I have no doubt that he'll get better with time but this one didn't make me a fan, maybe next time :( Ab-Soul, possibly one of my new faves dropped his album "These Days" early 2k14, and after his project Soul Control I was really eager to hear it. Though I found it not better than Soul Control it was still very impressive. Felt comfortable letting the album play-through without wanting to skip any tracks. He did have a few songs(Hunnid Stax, Sapiosexio, Twact) on this album that I felt like he dumbed it down a bit to pertain to a larger audience but they weren't bad records, there's enough solid material on the album to over-ride that anyhow, and it brings the album full circle in a way that you’d have to listen to to understand. All in all I'd say Ab-Soul gave us another great album containing dope production with substantial lyrical content; and when you pair the two, you can never go wrong. From my 1st time hearing Schoolboy Q I knew he'd be a problem. 1st song I heard from him was Hands on the Wheel, followed up by Blessed and from that day on I was like...Yeah(head nods). So when I heard about Oxymoron I knew it'd be dope. Naw he may not be as lyrical as Kendrick Lamar or Ab Soul but the way he mixes his wittiness and wordplay with G-Fonk is ridiculous! This is another one you could just put in and let it ride all the way through; possibly best album of the year. Think of DPG in their prime rolled into to one person, over a beat selection thats amongst the likes of his fellow TDE conglomerates and you have Schoolboy Q's Oxymoron in a nutshell. As far as highlights he released 7 visuals from the album and they are all knockers so you take your pick. Did I also mention that it debuted at #1 on Billboard in its 1st week? Last but certainly not least we have J. Cole. Up until now I had never been a fan of Cole; his songs always just seemed kind of bland to me, until I heard Crooked Smile and was impressed. The track made me want to hear a few more track maaybe, but not check out the album, so when I first heard about Forest Hills Drive I didn’t even lift my head. Then one day while listening to Pandora several weeks ago, I heard his track No Role Models and it stuck with me...for some days. After hearing about how good the album was doing, and how good it was I had to check it out for myself. He converted me. Again, another artist with a beat selection that seemed 90s inspired which made me tune in to give the lyrics a listen. Cole definitely has substance which boosts his replay value and the fact that he did it with no features shows his ability to stand on his own, giving him mega kudos since hes still kinda green. The album is a really smooth listen transitioning from one track to the next perfectly. If I was forced to choose a fave it’d have to be Love Yours, really hope he releases some visuals for it! #OfficiallyAFan Well that about raps this up, feel free to leave comments if you have any rebuttals, wanna share views, or think there’s someone that I should look into. I’m always looking for good new music besides mine!
