Barter, Carter

Today is a pretty big day for Ca$h Money, as their latest addition to the roster, Young Thugga, drops his debut release "Barter 6" which was originally known as the "Carter 6" but Tunechi wasn't haven't it (I guess). In addition to attempting to take over the 'Carter' throne Young Thug also decided to have the album release in none other than HollyGrove, and has invited Wayne personally via Instagram! I don't know whether to expect Tunechi or not, being he a businessman first and may have pre-scheduled arrangements, but that is a very ballsy move by Thugger Thugger. Now of course YT is backed by Ca$h Money so I expect zero to little violence if any, but this just makes things way more interesting for me. As you should know my theory is that this whole thing is a big hoax, and in the end Ca$h Money is going to re-unite as this 'powerhouse' per say. I still feel this way, but after seeing YT's Instagram and the way he's attacking it seems to be real. Especially since he had said earlier he wouldn't be doing the back & forth thing with someone he once looked up to, but I guess he was like fvkk it....or could it be more parts to this dramatic 'powerhouse' scheme? Unfortunately I won't be able to make the concert in person but that's why we have Twitter and Instagram!

In all seriouness though, I'm kind of eager to hear what YT has to offer; I mean the last time we saw something like this was with Juvenile 400 Degrees, when none other than Tunechi took it and made 500 Degrees. The album was pretty hot, not exactly 400 Degrees, but pretty close, 380 maybe? I know for fact that YT is capable of making good music as the Rich Gang album wasn't half bad. I mean if you're not into that "glitz & glamour" style rap then it's not for you, but the beat selection alone is worth listening to. & even though the actual content is "typical" and nothing out of the norm, YT has seemed to perfected his flow. He knows how to work his angle, and that never hurts. He's no Tunechi, for sure, but he can make good music; and I'll even go a bit further to say, I'm positive he can put out a project better than Weezy's last effort(SFTW4) which was terrible to me. Tunechi says he's releasing a free project called the Free Wayne Album and I hope wholeheartedly that he reminds you there's only 1 Carter.

I Told You So...(Before The Deal)

So, yesterday there were multiple articles on how Lil Wayne is dropping the article.  Now if you follow me,(and if you're reading this you are) then you know I was the first to publish the article on how the whole Tunechi, suing Baby thing is one big hoax.
No surprise to me, I'm on the inside you see; which sparked another huge piece of insight.  Months before Lil Wayne dropped the video for "No Worries" I had a huge campaign going for a project I was set to release entitled Dance Party! Now I had planned for the release to occur on Christmas(my B-Day) for obvious reasons. The actual video was shot in October, and was being edited. Late November Tunechi released "No Worries" which was themed after none-other than you guessed it, "Fear-N-Loathing in Las Vegas".   I was pretty disappointed to say the least, but I just cited it and had to re-theme the video, but the obvious is still there; no way was I going to re-shoot a video.  The proof is here:

No Worries Video: Coincidence or Acts of Espionage???

Okay, so when I went to look over the blog earlier just to valiate things, I saw something that made the light dawn on me in countless ways.  There was this particular picture I took, that took countless amounts of editing because of the idea I was trying to purvey.  It's one of my best pics ever IMO so I don't know why I never took it into consideration.  When I show you this you might shrug like, co-inky-dink, but when you throw in the "No Worries" shyte, the fact that my press release was everywhere(in the hands of bloggers, writers, a&rs, djs), aaannnd, an OVO DJ screwed one of my records....it's more than possible...it's true.
  Jon0h-NoCondom-Blog-Drake-Nothing-Was-The-Same-Young-Money-Cash-Money-Deal Jon0h-NoCondom-Blog-Drake-Nothing-Was-The-Same-Young-Money-Cash-Money-Deal-fear-n-loathing-campaign-"
I apologize for the grainy image but the photo is old, and I did not have a copy of the original.  Besides the fact that he made his face stand out against the image as opposed to my blending my face in, the only other difference is the fact that he used a baby Drake, and an up to date photo.  I used my up to date photo, and an image of me as a spirit or ancestral self.   Okay, after I saw this I was convinced, I'm being watched by more people in the industry than I thought.  I never felt so accomplished & lost in my life.  All this time these guys have been using me as a watering hole per say for ideas and such. For example when I have a song about being fascinated with wanting to fly, I released years ago. Months later what pops up? A song by New Orleans artist Fiend entitled "If I Could Fly".  Not a major downer though, I actually feel good all in all.  I now know that all my hard work is being recognized, and it's an honor to have artist such as these to "borrow" from your work.  If you weren't listening to my music before, this should be a clear indication that you should.  My sound is soon to be imposed upon you anyway being that I'm pretty much backed by a machine.  If they think my shyte was hot enough to ste--"borrow" from, imagine how ape sh!t they going for my new stuff.

The Spotlight Remains on Ca$h Money

I'm convinced now officially that the whole Ca$h Money, Lil Wayne shyte is a hoax.  After the past stories I read, I realized its a minor set back for a major come back.  Lets just go over the top three stories in my timeline this week.  All coming from thr most reputable sources.
1st off we got Thugga Thugga! He was in had an interview this week with GQ and according to them he stated that that he'd never buy a Jay Z album based on their age difference and that if you're 30 or older you shouldn't be rapping.  Biggest statement though was that Jigga doesn't want to, and shouldn't be rapping, even though he's good at it .  Now these statements will reach Hov's ears, rather he responds or not is something we'll have to wait for.  Considering Young Thug I feel it's just an attention drawer to keep the spot light on none other than...Ca$h Money.
2nd Tunechi announced that he'd be releasing a new album sooner than later, but still not C5.  Instead it's supposed to be named the "Free Wayne" album and its title says enough.  There's not much more known about it or its content just that it'll be here before the Carter V.  The lawsuit is still under lid and seal with the only deets being that Weezy wants $51M for Carter V & release from his contract but will stay if paid $10M for for the album.  Baby hasn't said much except for he is willing to go to court.  More propaganda I say.
3rd and the icing on the cake is the "Turk Suing Baby" situation.  Turk says he wants $1.3M from Ca$h Money as well as all the rights to his music. The $1.3M would be compensation for unpaid royalties, as well as shady dealings.  At first I was thinking "Really Turk, I don't even think you're album made $1.3M" but then I thought about how much money he really did miss if he didn't get any of his publishing and its more like "Damn Baby, its just $1.3M".  Turk says they've been trying to handle it privately but it hasn't gotten him anywhere so time to take it to the next level I guess, especially right now, cause the iron is hot...a little tooo hot I'd say, propaganda maybe?  And let us not forget that Manny Fresh and Lil Wayne have also been cited together...
Now to most it seems like the crumbling of an empire, but to the trained eye, its a strategic movement, for maybe one of the biggest publicity stunts in hip hop ever, and considering the characters involved it could be highly likely, stay tuned....

Lil Wayne Re-negotiating?

This is just a short PSA to put this out there, just in case it wins me a noble peace prize, or people recognize my supernatural powers.  Just wanna put this out there, if you go back a few posts you'll see some blogs I did back in December about the ongoing tensions over at Ca$h Money.  In what seemed like an avalanche effect, 1st Lil Twist insulted the management via tweet, then Tyga followed a month later, then finally about a month later Tunechi aired out his discontent with the label.  Now due to the way things popped off, and other happenings I suspected a bigger promotional scheme underneath what seemed like imminent doom.  Now as I'm doing my daily social media scroll I see the following story
Lil Wayne Will Stay With Cash Money, If Birdman Pays Him
Now I'm leaving the link for the official story below if you wanna get your detective on and investigate it further.  $10M is the asking price for at least the completion of the Carter V.  Like I said I feel its all part of a big promotional scheme because it just seems too...cliche' (for lack of a better word).  Just keep an ear out for the situation & remember where you heard it first...........Your Favorite Black Guy >> (Credits for official story go to XXL Magazine click here

Worst Hip Hop Rumors This Month

The internet is very much like the real world, with a high speed traveling system.  If you wanted(& lots of folk actually do) you could just kick back in your house all day, working from home, as well as having eveything from education, to zebra meat delivered right to your front door.  mc).  Now with this ease of access to just about everything, it leaves me dumbfounded when I'm scrolling thru my social media notifications & see bogus stories on just about everything from celebrities to new species of animals.  Now although a few(very veerry few) of these just happen to be true sometimes, I still find it super annoying, lazy, & a downright insult personally to bloggers & journalists everywhere when these stories are posted & actually taken seriously!!!  I mean I get it, sometimes there seems to be countless days that fly by with no real leads or stories to keep your reader entertained but I still don't see it as an excuse to post some bullshyte that's going to be confirmed fake within 2 minutes of it being posted!  Whats worse is the credit you lose as blogger/journalist/writer.  Now again I know this type of "journalism" has been around since print publications were the only way to stay in tune with the entertainment world, but due to technology seems like it would've died out some but it seems to get worse everyday.  The straw that broke the camels back for me was when I saw an article that said Ludicrous the rapper was dead!  Of course the story was took down & deleted just as quick as it was posted but still its like how far will these mofos go for attention/traffic now-a-days.  I decided to scan back a month to see the most ridiculous lies that internet could tell, here's just 5 of them, but...believe me (drake vc) there's plenty more where this came from.
I know folk joke about this all the time, but what blew me away with this one is that ehy actually went thru the trouble of creating a fake account to create 'gay confession' tweets or photoshopped his tweets, either way, thumbs up for trying to keep the authenticity.
There's no shame in this one at all.  This mofo types up a police report that states 'verbatim' that the staff found a pair of long johns with blood on the seat(heh) belonging to Gucci Mane(they black out his name of course)...and thats just the tip of the iceberg
The title says it all.
Unless you're Encino Man then you've heard about the current riff between Birdman & his marquee act, Tunechi.  In an effort to milk the situation for everything its worth this whimsical tale was created...Enjoy!
How messed up did you get to come up with this...this....f%ckery?!  A conspiracy to steal 29 tons of McNuggets for personal use? I guess it would be a kick ass idea for an after-hours grub-spot.
All links are credited to rappersnews.com.  All of these stories were reported by several sites so the actual source of them is hard to say, but I doubt anyone would care to know anyway

Checking out the Comp

What up world?! its yo pothead potna' back at ya, Hope all of yalls year are off to a good start! Mine is going prettty good & I have absolutely, positively no reason to complain!!! If you've been keeping up with me then you're aware of my most recent blog which covered what I thought to be the Best Albums of 2k14. In lieu(there it is again) of this blog I decided to get ahead this year by posting what I thought would be the Best Albums of 2k15. Now notice the keyword is "predicting" as last year taught us some of these albums may not even be released, but lets hope fort he best! As always I'll start with the artists I'm most fond and branch off from there

If you know slightly anything about me then you know Im a HUGE Kid Cudi fan! Last year Cudi dropped an EP entitled Satellite Flight: Journey To Mother Moon to hold his fans over for the time being & let us know via Twitter & IG that Man On The Moon 3 will be out this year!!! Cudi is out in Hawaii recording his album right now & from the looks of things he's in his zoned

If Man on the Moon 3 really picks up where Satellite Flight left off, then Cudder fans everywhere is in for a treat!

Next up where we've none other than my nizzy Drizzy! Other than some features & a few songs Drake went damn near silent(audio wise) in 2k14, but after his impressive release in 2k13(NWTS) Drizzy fans everywhere hardly noticed. Luckily, he was on enough features to keep us entertained. Then for his BDay he released 3 songs that he said would be leaked anyways(thanks to hackers). Drizzy promised that his 4th album will be out early 2k15, which is entitled Views from the 6th...we'll be waiting.

While we're in that YMCMB factor I guess we'll go ahead talk Weezy. Since the beginning of the year Wayne has been promising his fans the much anticipated C5. I guess after getting tired of making excuses Tunechi put out there that CMB was holding him/his music hostage, and that he wanted out of his deal. Lawsuits have been talked about from both sides ofthe argument, but things are being kept under lid for now. From the singles he dropped(Krazy, Grinding), sounds like another dope project under his belt, but the question is when are we gonna get to hear it? Recently heard some sources say he maybe releasing a project called "The Other Album", once again all we can do is wait.

Damn near everyone on TDE released an album last year except for a couple, one mainly be their marquee act K. Dot. Ever since Kendrick's emergence on the scene you know he was gonna be a problem. After his 2k12 release Good Kid Maad City Kendrick fans everywhere has been itching for a new release. Two years later besides features and his highly acclaimed "i" he's been rather quiet (a little too quiet if you ask me). Supposedly 2k15 is suppose to be the year that he comes out of hibernation, which is truly believable due to all the other albums coming out this year from top artist; something tells me he's been for waiting for the competition.

Yeezy has also been on a slight hiatus since early 2k13 not really releasing any music, but focusing energy into other areas of his career. Most recently he released a song inspired by Northwest entitled "Only One" which features Paul McCartney, Rhianna, and Ty Dolla $ign. The album is said to have at least 7 to 8 more songs on it, & appearantly Seth Rogen has heard the whole thing live in the back of a limo/van. Seth says Yeezy played the instrumentals from the album and just performed each song right then and there! Supposedly it's completed as of now having been recorded in Mexico in a day or less. Should be out before the end of the 1st quarter.

Now this last artist we'll be discussing has been under the radar since the success of his 2k13 release Long Live Asap. Since then he's released some music here and there, but has mainly been in fashion spreads and campaigns. A group venture was in the works, but has been cancelled and the ASAP mob seems to be pushing all attention toward Flacko Jodye(name of album). No for sure release date has been set for the album, but I heard he has 30 songs recorded for it! He released a single from the album last week or so to calm the hungry mob that await his album, letting them know 'Flacko Jodye Season is upon Us'. Now theres a whole slew of artists supposedly releasing projects next year that I didn't speak on, if I did this write up wouldn't be out in time. What I did do for you though is compile a list of artist dropping this year just in case I didn't write about an artist who has your interest(Im sure there's tons of others that aren't on this list as well.

2k14 Rap Up

Well just like that its over. With about two days left in the year (given all goes good) its safe to say we've made it thru another one, and lets hope that life is larger and grander in 2k15!  But before we rush off into the new year, lets recap 2k14, and get a feel for what to expect in these coming days. I give you the first #NoCondomRapUp:HipHop in 2K14.!
Now 2014 wasn't necessarily a bad year for hip hop, but it certainly wasn't the best. Not to take away anything from it because the culture as a whole made some big feats as well as did many individuals...but it had its downsides as well. Kick back, po'up, light something as I run down biggest oohhs and aahhs of the year

First Quarter

The year started out with a bang for hip hop as many artist landed huge placements, made some big accomplishments, & the culture itself took some large steps. For example J. Cole graced the SuperBowl with a performance, and they now ask hip hop questions on game shows like Jeopardy!   Yeezy's, "Yeezus" went platinum giving him his 10th(give or take) platinum album...#Beast.  Now on the down side he got sentenced to two years probation for yet another scuffle with the paparazzi

Now Yeezy wasn't the only one doing numbers this year as Pharell's HappY went platinum as well, but somehow Macklemore manged to snatch the grammy for best hip hop album beating some of hip hops best like Kendrick,Drake, and Jay Z.  This caused quite a stir within the hip hop community resulting in Macklemore going public to say K Dot actually had the best album of the year, but folk still fstw.
Speaking of TDE Schoolboy Q released his highly anticipated "Oxymoron" which topped Billboard, and that was a real good look for the game and Q.  They finally freed Lil Boosie and he came home and went right to work.  Boosie  Bad Azz gave the streets a mixtape entitled "Life After Death Row", which got a really good response.  This project is suppose to hold the public over until he releases his double disc album, "Touchdown to Cause Hell", which is said to be finished.  SXSW was successful once again with a line up full of stars, with headliners like Yeezy, & Jay-Z & did I mention it was my 1st year performing?!?!?!

Second Quarter

The next quarter of the year got a lot more interesting as Big Sean was invited to the White House to perform for the president's daughter along side Ariana Grande. He was the first rapper ever to do so.  Also Outkast came together for a string of live shows, such as Coachella and their own tour.  This would be the first time they  performed alongside each other in a decade, and now that we're on reunions, Wu-Tang also got back together to do an album entitled "A Better Tomorrow".  G-Unit reformed also, and made an appearance at Summer Jam as a whole.
While we're in that Shady/Aftermath area(I know 50's left already) lets go ahead and point out the fact that Dr. Dre sold his Beat headphones to Apple for 3.2 billion, making him hip hops first billionaire!  If that wasn't surprising enough Spike Lee directed an Eminem video...well it was mindblowing to me!  Now on the downside of this quarter, two of the most well-established black celebrities (T.I. & Mayweather) of our time, scuffled outside of a Fatburger in Vegas over Tiny.  I heard Tip swung first...he really loves her is all I can say.  Meanwhile in the middle of the nation, Trick Trick established the No Fly Zone in Michigan locking out any rappers that don't break bread with local artists, and made Rick Ross the first example by not letting him perform at a concert. & who could forget the infamous Jay-Z, Solange, elevator incident?

Third Quarter

2k14 might've been battle raps biggest year.  In addition to The URL having its own segment on BET entitled Ultimate Freestyle Fridays, the genre also had its first ever PPV event presented on national TV, with a reality series that aired in the upcoming weeks of the event!  Even hip hop artists got into the ring to throw punches with battle rap vets.  The two biggest being Joe Budden(vs Hollow the Don) & Cassidy(vs Dizaster) who got paid 250k for his battle!

Drake and Tunechi gave the fans what they wanted and co-headlined a tour together entitled "Drake vs Wayne" and it was a success.  Drake also hosted the ESPY's this year, and appeared on Saturday Night Live, which a few rappers did this year.  Jay-Z's "Made In America" documentary aired as him & B, completed their successful "On the Run" co-lab  tour.  Jigga also kicked off football season, performing for the start of the first official game, with Rhi Rhi.

Fourth Quarter

All good things must come to an end, or so they say...well in this case its true, as we're seeing all the good news from hip hop this year, is being offset by a series of unfortunate events.  Young Money/Cash Money artists have been insulting their label, and label mates publicly in these last couple of months, starting with Lil Twist back in October who said his management was worst ever in history.  Tyga then came forward claiming that the label was refusing to let him release his album or move forward with his career.  Tyga then went on to say he didn't like the labels marquee acts (Drake & Nicki) personally he just worked with them cause he had to.  As if this wasn't enough, Wayne recently went public about his album being held w/ no release date, & even wanting off the label.  Tunechi has hinted at taking legal action against Cash Money if the situation isn' fixed....whoa.

Just when you thought it was all love in hip hop, damn.  But YMCMB isn't the only group of folk who are divided right now.  Apparently DJ Mustard, (break out producer who made YG's "My Hitta" ) is beefing with none other than YG.  This was literally brought to my attention a few minutes ago as the "IG" beef escalated earlier today.  Dj Mustard is upset over not being paid for the music he provided for the project.  YG in turn and I quote stated "Fuqq you, and fuqq everybody that didn't get paid for my album...".   The two were scheduled to fight but I haven't heard anymore about it.
Well I hope you found our little time together informative,  but hell who am I kidding?  With the way 2k14 ending the way it has I honestly don't know what to expect from hip hop in 2k15, but I know one thing for sure...you can expect to see me on TV!!! Its been great see you guys in 2k15!!!
( I despise talking about the laws so we won't get into how the hip hop police have been cracking down on artists like Bobby Shmurda and Tiny Doo as of late, but my last post was about it, so if you wanna read up on it just go back a day or two.)

Fvck The Po-Lice!

Lots has happened in this last quarter of 2k14...especially in hip hop.  Although lots of progression was made, there was a lot of mishaps, unfortunate events, and riffs amongst artist(some of whom appeared to be good friends).  On top of that it seems that the #hiphoppolice are cracking down on artist that affiliate themselves with the streets.  For example they hit new up and coming artist Bobby Shmurda with an indictment "about a week agoooo"(its not funny tho)".  Feds say they busted Bobby & crew GS9 with about 20 some-odd guns, and had other charges against them ranging from murder to drugs.  I read recently that Shmurda is out on bond, but faces 25 years. His lawyer states the case they have against him is all a hunk of bull shyt, for his sake I hope it is.Jon Oh-No-Condom Blog-Bobby-Shmurda-GS9-Indictment
Nothing is worse than the article I just read tho.  If you're not into west coast rap then you don't know these guys, but San Diego rapper Tiny Doo is behind bars right now due to a mixtape he released entitled "No Safety.  The cops believe a string of attempted murders boosted the artists credibility which in turn caused the mixtape to do really well, and if you haven't heard(as I hadn't), the conspiracy law imprisons anyone who benefits from the criminal activity in question, even if they had nothing to do with it!  When you add up the facts that Tiny Doo has no criminal record, the mixtape was made a year before the shootings occured, and the songs don't even indicate the shootings, you gotta wonder: Why are they charging him again?  Mr Doo is set to go to trial late January, but I honestly hope this case gets dismissed.  Prosecutors day its not about his freedom of speech, but actually it is.  Now correct me if I'm wrong but I've never heard of a case against a (death-metal, punk) rock artist, even though kids commit suicide all the time, and  sometimes schools even get shot up.  These lyrics can be very disturbing at times, & though every so often ppl point the finger, its never near as serious as the Tiny Doo case.  I hope everything works out in his favor.
Jon Oh-No-Condom Blog-Tiny-Doo-No-Safety_Indictment
Also in other legal matters in hip hop,  apparently this Lil Wayne leaving Cash Money thing is real.  I've been seeing several reports that indicate Tunechi is ready to sue Baby, & it basically boils down to the release of The Carter V.  I've heard that the ultimatum for Baby is release Tunechi or he's going to sue.  Everything is being kept sort of hush besides the original tweet that Wayne sent out a week or two ago. Will do my best to keep you updated!!!
